Dallas Weekend Part II (Still Feb. 9)

So my super-supportive husband drove me to Dallas last weekend so I could run the Dallas Half-Marathon (I've been talking about running a full again, and Rob gives me The Look). I've been checking my email inbox all week long waiting for the race pictures to come. It was a beautiful day for a run, and I had a really good race. I ran very conservatively, and even took walk-breaks every 4 miles (this was against my competitive side's desires). And despite all these precautions, my time was only two minutes longer than my Baltimore Half time. This was thrilling, because I was NOT pregnant when I ran Baltimore, and I DID push myself that day. It was nice to have such a measurable proof of how my running has improved.
It was also nice just to be in a big city. I really miss it. We ate Thai food, and it was really good. Much better than anything we can get in Little Rock. I miss good restaurants. Rob also endured the Galleria for me (gianormous shopping mall). Don't I have a great husband?
After the race, we drove to Plano and Rob took me to Melanie Lane, where he grew up (how much do I love that?). Sandy claims that "Beky" is still engraved on the mailbox, but I couldn't see it. I later realized that I neglected to take my sunglasses of while looking, though, so who knows? It may be. The next Glade to visit Melanie Lane will have to check--without wearing sunglasses!

Oh, and I had to take the candy heart quiz Heather showed us. I, too, am a sucker for these things. And Rob will laugh when he sees this:
Your Candy Heart Says "Get Real"
You're a bit of a cynic when it comes to love.
You don't lose your head, and hardly anyone penetrates your heart.

Your ideal Valentine's Day date: is all about the person you're seeing (with no mentions of v-day!)

Your flirting style: honest and even slightly sarcastic

What turns you off: romantic expectations and "greeting card" holidays

Why you're hot: you don't just play hard to get - you are hard to get

Way to go Mel! I'm always so impressed by your marathoness. Brent will be jealous he's been talking about doing another half since we got married, in fact I think it's another new years resolution:) by the way I love your hair cut, I haven't seen it yet! That's one of the great things about blogging, you get to see pictures and keep up on how everyone's doing!
